The TOURBOGRAPH "Pour le Mérite" is an exceptional expression of micro-mechanical virtuosity. It is the very first wristwatch in the history of horology that unites a fusée-and-chain transmission, a tourbillon, and a rattrapante chronograph mechanism. Its movement reflects the ultimate degree of precision watchmaking ingenuity.

A PARAGON OF PRECISION WATCHMAKING.

With its TOURBOGRAPH "Pour le Mérite", Lange tested the limits of mechanical feasibility. The first glance at the movement already reveals two marvels from the high-end realm of complications: the tourbillon and the chronograph with the rattrapante function. But what makes this timepiece really inimitable is concealed in the depths of its movement: the fusée-and-chain transmission. Thus, together with the tourbillon, the TOURBOGRAPH unites the two most complex inventions for the optimization of the rate stability of a mechanical watch.

The Tourbograph Pour le Mérite features a 1/6th of a second chronograph that consists of two delicate superimposed sweep hands. Both hands can be used to additively time events, the duration of which may be up to 30 minutes. Any number of lap times may be calculated with the split-time mechanism.

This watch has it all: Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Power Reserve, Tourbillon (visible through an aperture at 6 o'clock), Rattrapante Chronograph (Split Seconds)

A MOVEMENT WITH MORE THAN 1000 PARTS.

The manually wound L903.0 calibre is one of the most extraordinary masterpieces ever crafted by the Lange manufactory. It is composed of over 1000 individual components, has 41 synthetic ruby jewels, and is precision-adjusted in five positions. Six gold chatons are secured with screws to the untreated German silver plates and bridges. The sapphire-crystal back showcases the tourbillon, the chronograph/rattrapante mechanism, and - below it - the fusée-and-chain transmission.
